Scott MacKenzie was a friend of Dave McKenna and made trips out to Rhode Island to visit after Dave retired in 2000.  Scott was responsible for bringing Dave to the Midwest to play concerts on many occassions during the 1990's.

 

During these visits, Scott taped informal interviews where he asked Dave all kinds of questions regarding his musical technique and the various musicians he knew and worked with over his career.

 

This interview was held in Providence, Rhode Island on June 22nd, 2002 in Dave's apartment.
